Fifteen drawings from Something Happened will be included in Drawing, Je t’aime: Selections from the AGO Vaults, a large selection of work by many artists including Jacopo Tintoretto, Edgar Degas, Henri Matisse, Robert Motherwell, Joyce Wieland, William Cruikshank, K.M. Graham and Annie Pootoogook. The exhibition opens on December 19th, 2015 and runs until April 3, 2016 at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Je t’aime has been curated by members of the newly formed Print & Drawing Council (comprised of staff in the curatorial, conservation and programming departments).

Room #5 part of the Tascona/Millin Donation

The Tascona/Millin Donation to the University of Manitoba School of Art, finalized in 2014, is comprised of 13 artworks (paintings, prints, drawings, epoxy resin works) by the late Canadian artist Tony Tascona and 47 works by a wide range of artists from across Canada, including a 1982 oil on canvas painting, Room #5 (above), by Jane Martin. The works are culled from the personal collection of Tony and his wife, Doreen Millin. The University of Manitoba is where Tony attended Art School as a Canadian military veteran. This donation adds to the University’s permanent retrospective of his work in the Law Faculty.
